The USCCA-For Saving Lives Action Fund Commends Legislation to Advance National Concealed Carry Reciprocity for Gun Owners Nationwide
Constitutional Right to Self-Protection Should Not Be Limited By State Lines
West Bend, WI – The U.S. Concealed Carry Association for Saving Lives Action Fund (USCCA-FSL Action Fund), which is supported by the country’s largest, fastest-growing self-defense association dedicated to responsible gun owners, today released the following statement on the introduction of H.R. 38, the Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, introduced by U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-09).
This critical legislation will bring greater consistency to when and where law-abiding Americans can exercise their constitutional right to protect themselves and their families. By recognizing concealed carry permits issued in any state, the bill empowers responsible gun owners to exercise their fundamental right to self-defense, regardless of state boundaries.
“We have a historic opportunity to enact national concealed carry reciprocity,” said Katie Pointer Baney, Executive Director of the USCCA-FSL Action Fund. “As communities across the country confront new and evolving challenges, Americans’ constitutional right to defend themselves and their families remains absolutely essential. The majority of Americans stand firmly behind the right to protect themselves, their families, and loved ones—and this right should not be limited by state lines.”
To date, more than half a million Americans have signed a petition urging their representatives in Washington to prioritize and help pass national reciprocity, demonstrating widespread support for the proposal from gun owners from all walks of life, spanning ideologies, gender and race.
Pointer Baney continued, “Our diverse coalition of responsibly-armed Americans looks forward to working closely with both chambers of Congress and the new administration to strengthen the fundamental right to self-defense, including finally addressing long overdue legislative reforms like national concealed carry reciprocity. The Action Fund is encouraged by the groundswell of support from Americans across the country who hope to see national concealed carry reciprocity finally signed into law.”
The USCCA, which provides self-defense education and training to more than 850,000 responsible American gun owners nationwide, recently launched a 501(c)(4) organization created with the mission of educating and equipping responsible gun owners to advocate for their Constitutional rights at the state and federal level. The Action Fund successfully mobilized law-abiding gun owners across key battleground states to participate in the democratic process at extraordinary levels, contributing to record-breaking turnout this cycle.
