Albuquerque, NM – Flanked by several hundred law-abiding gun owners and local elected officials concerned with their Governor’s unconstitutional overreach, the U.S. Concealed Carry Association For Saving Lives Action Fund (USCCA- FSL Action Fund) hosted a press conference and rally in Albuquerque today to protest New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s recent “emergency public health order” suspending citizens’ Second Amendment right.

With over 800,000 members nationwide, including thousands in New Mexico, the U.S. Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) is the largest and fastest-growing association in the country, whose sole focus is providing self-defense education and training to responsible American gun owners. The recently launched USCCA for Saving Lives Action Fund – a 501(c)(4) organization – was created this year to educate and equip responsible gun owners to advocate for their Constitutional rights.

Joining officials from the USCCA and other gun rights groups at Calibers Shooting Sports Center in Albuquerque, where today’s event was held, were several local elected officials, including State Representative Stefani Lord and Albuquerque City Councilor Dan Lewis.

Although a federal judge granted a temporary restraining order on Wednesday, Governor Lujan Grisham’s unconstitutional order depriving law-abiding citizens of the right to protect themselves has garnered national media attention in recent days, with political leaders on both sides of the aisle expressing concern with the legality of her actions.

“By depriving law-abiding citizens of their right to protect themselves and their families, Governor Lujan Grisham’s unconstitutional order only empowers criminals and harms responsible gun owners.  The USCCA for Saving Lives Action Fund gives everyday Americans a platform to make their voices heard. We’re grateful that so many of them turned out at our event in Albuquerque today to voice their opposition to the Governor’s actions.  Every American has the right to protect themselves, and we will continue to keep the pressure up on the Governor to back down from this unconstitutional government overreach,” said Katie Pointer Baney – Managing Director of Government Affairs for the USCCA and Executive Director of the USCCA for Saving Lives Action Fund.
