Protecting Privacy in Purchases Act
Introduced by Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY), Congressman Richard Hudson (R-NC), and Congressman Andy Barr (R-KY)
This bill would ban the use of a Merchant Category Code (MCC) to track sales at gun stores. These MCCs involving firearms would allow the purchases of law abiding gun owners to be tracked. This bill aims to protect the privacy of Americans purchases, especially in regards to their Second Amendment rights.
